Welcome to Barnaby's Bistro

Barnaby's is a cosy, relaxed bistro situated in the heart of Padstow in a former Victorian tearoom. It's just up the road from our sister restaurant Prawn On The Lawn and is another proud creation of Katie and Rick Toogood.

The restaurant is named after Rick’s grandfather, George Barnaby. He and his family were all from Manchester- hence the bee theme - as this symbol has been synonymous with the city since the industrial revolution.

With Barnaby's we wanted to do a modern take on the classic bistro with a traditional starter, main course, dessert format. We hope that it feels relaxed, intimate and fun - just as if you were round a friends for dinner!

Working alongside Executive Chef Rick is our Head Chef Rob Brinham who has moved up the road from Prawn on The Lawn.

We change the menu every two months so that it can be as seasonal as possible and work with some amazing local suppliers - everything is from as near to Padstow as possible.

Please note:

We serve food all day from 12pm and do several sittings so we respectfully ask for your table back after 2 hours for up to 4 people and for 5 or more after 2.5 hours. We take tables of up to 6 people maximum. For tables of 5 or more we apply a discretionary 10% service charge.

We welcome children under 12 up to 5pm and then children over 12 only in the evenings.

Due to the limited number of tables in the restaurant, credit card details are required on booking. In the event of a cancellation or reduction in numbers with less than 24hr notice a £25pp charge will be applied for those who do not dine. We appreciate your understanding on this.

Please note if you are more than 15mins late for your table we reserve the right to give it away.
